Summary

Further threats to the Kharg infrastructure won't make Iran surrender. They can get China and Russia to help them rebuild--especially if Trump ends up being Iran's biggest benefactor. This will just embolden Iran further to not acquiesce to Trump because there is no upside for them. They will continue to choke the Hormuz. The only reason we aren't at $150 oil right now is because there is billions being dumped in the futures oil markets. Iran has no incentive to stop right now. Why would they? Keeping the strait closed is where their leverage is. They want Trump to capitulate with some major concessions more than likely and if he doesn't, oil will continue to go up. Releasing reserves won't keep the price of oil from going up with the Hormuz choked and tankers on fire all over the place and general instability in the region.
