Wildberries warehouse burns near Moscow as Russia strikes across Ukraine By Investing.com

Iran disputes Qatar, Kuwait accounts as US war commander visits carrier Investing.com -- A major Wildberries distribution centre near Moscow caught fire following a Ukrainian drone attack, part of one of the largest recent assaults on the Russian capital region, Bloomberg reported on Sunday. Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyev said air defences shot down or suppressed 187 drones across the region overnight. Fires were also reported at a pharmaceutical warehouse in Domodedovo and an unidentified industrial facility in Voskresensk. Three people were injured. Russia’s defence ministry said its forces intercepted a record 822 Ukrainian drones nationwide during the night. The Wildberries facility in Koledino is one of the e-commerce company’s main distribution hubs serving the Moscow region. Wildberries, often described as Russia’s equivalent of Amazon, has become a repeated target of Ukraine’s campaign against Russian logistics infrastructure. At least 20 of its warehouses have been attacked since mid-July. Russian forces separately launched missiles and drones against Kyiv, Odesa and other areas across Ukraine. Ukraine’s air force said Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih were targeted with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. Air defences intercepted or suppressed three cruise missiles and 85 drones, while strikes were recorded at 13 locations. Russia said it targeted military-industrial facilities in Kyiv, the Kremenchuk oil refinery and ArcelorMittal’s (NYSE:MT) mining and steel complex in Kryvyi Rih. The main energy and blast-furnace production facility at the ArcelorMittal complex was damaged, forcing production to stop, RBC-Ukraine reported. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said two people were killed and 14 injured in the Kryvyi Rih strike. Another person was killed in the northern Sumy region, while six people were injured in Kyiv and the surrounding area. Russia’s defence ministry also claimed that attack drones struck a bulk carrier transporting military equipment for Ukraine at the port of Odesa. The claim could not be independently verified. The latest strikes point to an intensifying campaign by both countries against logistics, industrial and energy infrastructure far behind their respective front lines.
