The Netherlands has decided to participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest after previously considering a boycott in response to the conflict in Gaza, with the public broadcasting association NPO stating it will form a joint team to select the country's entry.

This decision comes amid ongoing disputes over the contest's political neutrality, which led broadcaster AVROTROS to withdraw from organizing duties and Ireland to announce its own planned boycott.

The Netherlands has announced its intention to return to Eurovision in 2027 after withdrawing from this year’s edition due to Israel’s participation. Following the decision by AVROTROS, the NPO has assumed responsibility for the country’s involvement, stating a desire to reconnect with the contest’s founding purpose of uniting European nations.

Briefers to the Security Council stated that while they acknowledged reported progress in Syrian governmental reforms and refugee returns, the country faces ongoing economic, security, and humanitarian challenges. They warned that these conditions continue to pose threats to Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
