UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting announced the deployment of RAF Typhoon jets to Saudi Arabia in a strictly defensive role to counter reported Houthi missile and drone attacks on the capital and coastal energy sites. The statement, which noted that the aircraft will not conduct offensive strikes, also confirmed the extension of air-to-air refuelling support and the deployment of additional military advisers and transport aircraft.
