The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States warned several Persian Gulf countries of a possible "short, intense military campaign" against Iran following the November 3 midterm congressional elections. The report stated that the Pentagon has evacuated US military personnel from Middle Eastern bases where they could be at risk, replenished ammunition stockpiles, and prepared bombers and fighter jets to carry out strikes.
